Location
Mauritz is one of Münster’s most beautiful districts. Everything you need is close-by: a supermarket, an organic grocery, a drugstore, an arthouse cinema, pubs, restaurants (Italian, Spanish, Lebanese, Moroccan, burgers, Asian snack, vegetarian,…), a pharmacy, a wine shop, a few bakeries, a flower shop and many hairdressers.
It’s a 16 minute-walk to the centre or the train station; the bus only takes 3 minutes. The bus stop is very close-by. If we can provide bicycles, it only takes 6 minutes to cycle to the city-centre.
Recreational areas are very close, too. The tree-lined procession path, which leads towards the town of Telgte, is just around the corner. The Dortmund-Ems Canal can be reached in just 15 minutes. Here, you also find a municipal indoor pool with a brine bath and a sauna. The apartment is therefore also ideally located, if you are looking for walks and bike rides.
- The blue circle marks a radius of 1,000 meters (0,62 miles) = about a 12 to 15 minutes walk
- The blue line shows the recommended footpath and bike path from the train station [DB] to us.
- Permanent parking spaces are available in Stiftsstraße.
Arrival
Arriving by train
If you want to take the bus, you have to take the 2 or 10 (in the evening and night N 83) in front of the main entrance at bus platform A. The short distance costs 1.90 euros (2 stops, 5 minutes). You have to get off at the bus stop “Hohenzollernring/Finanzgericht”. Here is the link to the timetable of the Stadtwerke Münster.
If you do not have too much luggage and it is not raining, we recommend walking: Use the NORDTUNNEL (this is the exit without escalator) and then exit the station at OSTAUSGANG/BREMER PLATZ.
Arriving by car
There are three parking spaces in front of the house (Warendorfer Str. 82), which can be used for unloading the car. As the maximum parking time is limited to one or two hours, they can’t be used permanently. From 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. a parking fee will be charged.
Permanent parking spaces are available in Stiftsstraße (with a double-s in the middle). Be careful: The parking spaces on the right side are not free of charge, but the others are. You will definitely find free parking spaces near the cemetery (Mauritz-Lindenweg), if there is no funeral. The cemetery is 400 meters from the apartment.
